Quality Analysis 90/100
This t-shirt boasts exceptional construction details, including vintage flat-felled seams and a triple-needle stitched collar, which significantly enhance its structural integrity and longevity. Furthermore, the use of heavy slub cotton fabric suggests superior resistance to wear compared to standard jersey knits.
Comfort Assessment 60/100
While the 100% cotton fabric is likely breathable, the heavy slub cotton fabric and the use of vintage flat-felled seams suggest a garment that prioritizes rugged durability and an authentic vintage feel over modern, flexible comfort.
Sustainability Impact 90/100
This garment scores highly due to its commitment to local, closed-loop production, evidenced by the "Samurai Cotton Project" which ensures the cotton is grown, harvested, and woven entirely in Japan. Furthermore, the use of a natural Tamba chestnut dye for coloring is a strong positive indicator of reduced chemical impact.

Garment details
Need-to-know info pulled from the retailer’s description, sizing notes, and care callouts.
Grown, harvested, and woven in Japan, this special edition shirt was originally conceptualized as a passion-project by Samurai Jeans founder Toru Nogami to produce a completely made in Japan denim from seed to stitch. Fittingly named the "Samurai Cotton Project," this project has created a new line of 100% Japan-made garments. Cherished for their beautiful fabrics and detail-oriented construction, this t-shirt is no different. Woven using natural slubby cotton, the shirt is finished on a 1960's vintage Union Special for an authentic vintage feel. This iteration receives it's rich color from a natural Tamba chestnut dye, indigenous to Sasayama, Hyogo, Japan.
